Missing Chieftain Found Dead In Plateau

The body of Ciroma from the Kumbun district of Mangu LGA in Plateau State was discovered in an abandoned well in the Jokom community in Mangu.

A statement by the Spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, Captain Oya James, confirmed the incident.

The leadership of the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN) revealed that the deceased went missing last Wednesday. He had left a health facility to buy food for his sick wife, who was receiving treatment in the hospital.

Commenting on the incident, the state Chairman of GAFDAN disclosed that the deceased went out at about 6 p.m. to get drugs for his sick wife, who was in a sick bay at a Mangu hospital but couldn’t return. After a search that lasted for four days, the body of the deceased was later found lying in a well close to the hospital.

“We are calling on all our members to remain calm and never take laws into their hands. We should continue to be law-abiding. The security agencies are doing their best. We are calling on the security to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act and bring them to book,” he added.

Mangu LGA in Plateau state has come under severe attacks in recent times, leaving scores dead and properties worth millions destroyed.
