Anna Ebiere Banner of Bayelsa State, last Saturday at the Banquet Hall of the Bayelsa Government House in Yenagoa emerged the most beautiful girl in Nigeria pageant contest (MBGN) 2013. The 18-year old was also appointed the Special Assistant to Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state on Culture and Tourism. She was equally named the Ambassador of Bayelsa State on the same portfolio of tourism.
Miss Anna whose excellent performance earned her the most coveted pageantry crown in the country trounced 31 other participants at the Silver Bird- powered pageant.
Elated by Anna’s dazzling performance and emergence, Gov. Dickson of Bayelsa state who was at the venue declared: “I had intended to proclaim or announce the winner as honorary citizen of this state and since you are a (Anna Ebiere Banner) natural citizen, an indigene of this great state I would announce the second bit of it, which is that henceforth as long as you are the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2013, you will also in addition to your other responsibilities be my Special Assistant on culture and tourism.”
The governor also chose the Beauty Queen as the state’s ambassador on culture and tourism.
With the beautiful queen’s pride of place as MBGN winner, she is billed to represent Nigeria at the Miss World beauty pageant to be held September 28 in Indonisia while her first runner-up Miss Imo (Stephanie Okwu) will be representing Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant.
Other accolades won by the participants include Miss Photogenic won by Miss Kano, Miss Amity won by Miss Bayelsa, Miss Charismatic won by Tomilayo Salami (Miss Kwara) & Best Traditional Costume won by Miss Bayelsa.
