Minister of Works Emphasises Collaboration with Bauchi State, Addresses Recent Remarks on Tinubu

The Honourable Minister of Works and Transport, David Umahi, recently paid a significant courtesy visit to Bauchi State, where he emphasised the crucial role of collaboration in driving economic growth, not just for Bauchi State but for Nigeria as a whole.

During this visit on Thursday, Minister Umahi also took the opportunity to address recent remarks he made about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State clarified these remarks, stressing that his intentions were never derogatory. Rather, his comments were made in his capacity as a representative of public opinion and the concerns of the people.

In his address to Minister Umahi, Governor Mohammed highlighted the essential function of the opposition in reflecting the voices and concerns of the public.

He took the opportunity to commend the Federal Government for its ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and construct key federal roads within Bauchi State and across the northeast subregion.

The Governor reassured Minister Umahi of Bauchi State’s unwavering commitment to supporting these vital infrastructure projects, ensuring their successful completion.

Governor Mohammed expressed his high regard for Minister Umahi, recognizing him as a diligent and innovative leader.

During the visit, Minister Umahi acknowledged the significant legacies and landmarks established in Bauchi, particularly the transformative projects initiated during Governor Mohammed’s tenure as FCT Minister.

He praised the Governor’s steadfast commitment to national unity and highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to alleviate the challenges faced by Nigerians.

Minister Umahi called for continued support and prayers for the President’s initiatives, stressing the importance of unity and collective effort in overcoming the nation’s challenges.

The visit carried out under the directive of President Tinubu, focused on inspecting the progress of the Jos-Akwanga-Bauchi road project. Minister Umahi made it clear that the Federal Government would take stringent action against any contractors failing to meet their obligations or who were absent from their work sites.

This visit underscored the Federal Government’s commitment to improving infrastructure in Bauchi State and beyond, reflecting a broader vision for national development through effective collaboration and accountability.
