Nigerian soldiers have defeated two important leaders of a group of criminals called armed bandits.
Their names were Baldo and Baban Yara. Many other criminals who worked for them were also killed.
These criminals were in charge of moving people they had kidnapped from one place to another in the states of Zamfara and Katsina.
Someone who knows a lot about defense and intelligence told Press that the soldiers attacked the criminals on Saturday. They fought in an area between Zamfara and Katsina.
The soldiers were very successful. They killed Baldo, Baban Yara, and 28 other criminals who were helping them.
Lately, the soldiers have been working very hard to fight criminals in the Northwest part of Nigeria.
A person who works for the military and knows a lot about intelligence said, “We want to remove all the criminals from this area so that farmers can work in their fields without worrying about criminals bothering them.”
At the same time, someone who was with the soldiers as a volunteer said to Newsmen that the soldiers acted quickly.
They didn’t spare any criminals they found. The soldiers used the information they had to surprise the criminals and attack them. Many of the criminals were riding motorcycles.
“If the soldiers keep doing operations like this, our farmers will be able to go back to their fields. Hopefully, we will have a peaceful time during Ramadan, which is coming soon.”
