Mikel Arteta applauds Luton Town's resilience following a slim victory over them

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed his praise for Luton Town after the newly promoted side held Arsenal to almost a full-time draw. Arsenal triumphed over resilience Luton Town in the extra minutes to earn all three points during a seven goals thriller match at the Emirate Stadium.

During Arteta post match question and answer session at the media at Kenilworth Road, the Spaniard when ask about his view on winning late, he praised Luton town for their spirited display:

“I really enjoyed [it], especially the end. The incredible thing about football is the emotions and the moments that you live together with a lot of people. It was a special night. Credit to Luton for the incredible atmosphere they created, the way they played, the way they were coached, they made life difficult for us, but we found a win. The resilience, the character, and quality that the team showed, and how much we wanted it, it was great.”

In the pulsating tie, Jesus, Marteneli, Havertz, and Declan Rice all were on the scoresheet for Arsenal away at Luton.

The Arsenal boss also gave an unfortunate on Takehiro Tomiyasu’s injury when asked:

“We had a scan, and it’s not good news. He’s got an injury in his calf, and he’s going to be out for a while.”

After the massive win, Arsenal’s lead on the log extended by 5 points ahead of Liverpool who along with the other 18 teams have a game in hand.
