Italian giant Juventus announces that it has relieved Massimiliano Allegri of his position as head coach of the men’s first team, days after guiding the team to the Coppa Italia trophy by beating Atalanta with a slim win of 1-0.
According to Juventus, Allegri was sacked following certain behaviors before and after the Coppa Italia final, which were described as incompatible with the values of the club:
“The exoneration follows certain behaviors during and after the Coppa Italia final that the club deemed incompatible with the values of Juventus and the behavior that those who represent it should have.”
Allegri’s second spell as head coach with Juventus commenced in 2021, having coached the team from 2014 to 2019 in his first spell.
In his 420 games with Juventus, he recorded 271 victories, 75 draws, and 74 losses.
The 56-year-old won 5 consecutive Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia trophies in a row before the recent one won against Atalanta, and two Supercoppa Italia trophies.
