Manchester City has agreed to a €95 million deal with Atlético Madrid for forward Julian Alvarez, as reported by The Athletic FC.
“Manchester City have reached a deal worth up to €95 million with Atlético Madrid for striker Julian Alvarez. The transfer is set to be completed this summer, pending the finalization of personal terms, making it a record sale for the Premier League club.”
In addition, Atlético Madrid is also working on a move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, who will soon travel to Spain for his medical after a €40 million fee was agreed. There are also reports that Samu Omorodion is a target for the club.
Alvarez, 24, was part of Argentina’s squad that won the Copa America in 2021 and the FIFA World Cup in December 2022.
He joined Manchester City from River Plate in 2022 and has since become one of the top strikers, despite being behind Erling Haaland.
During his time at City, he made 103 appearances, scoring 36 goals and providing 18 assists.
