Man Commits Suicide In Abia After Losing 2.5 Million Naira To Betting

One Onoh Chukwuma Richard from Abia state has ended his life after going live on his social media handle to say that, “today is my last day on earth. I going to meet my maker.”

Sources said that the Abia-born businessman borrowed a large sum of money but lost it to gambling. According to these sources, the deceased disclosed plans to exit the world after recording a wordless video in a lemon-colored t-shirt.

He was reported to have died after consuming a chemical substance.

However, it was said that friends swiftly started reaching out to him. They rushed him to Madonna Hospital in Umuahia, the Abia state capital where he was eventually confirmed dead.

Meanwhile a video of him in the hospital showed him wearing the same clothes he had on during his live video. Some of his friends said that he had consumed the harmful substance before going live on social media.

The deceased left behind his elderly mother, whom he regularly writes about on Facebook. It was revealed that a few weeks ago, he talked about his mother urging him to find a wife and get married.

It is not clear what could have been the exact reason behind his decision as there was no confirmed report as to whether he left a suicide note or not.

As of press time, there was no official statement by the Nigerian Police in the area regarding the incident.
