“The State FRSC Sector Commander, Andrew Kumapayi advises all road users and motorists to shun night travels, especially in this period of COVID-19 pandemic and following government directives on prohibition night travels (8 pm-6 am). He sends his condolences to the family of the dead and admonishes drivers to always drive defensively as most road traffic crashes are avoidable,” Anigbo said.

Meanwhile, further investigation has revealed that the victim of the crash is a native of Ire Village, Abba in Njikoka Council Area.

According to a source within the town, the victim popularly known as Aku na Malaysia was a returnee from the Asian country and is well known in the town for his expressive lifestyle.

“His death is a big blow to us. Ever since he returned from Malaysia, he has been a ‘happening guy’ with a very big appetite for activities. Judging from the time of the accident, he must have been coming from a night club or a party. It is really unfortunate that his life ended like this,” the source said.
