Love Me Jeje- Tems Takes Us on a Wild Ride Down Memory Lane

Singer, Tems

Tems is making a comeback with her next album, “Love Me Jeje,” and that 90s hit song comes to mind. Prepare yourself for a nostalgic journey with the Afrobeats music icon herself.

After giving a great performance at Coachella, Tems released a teaser for her album, which will be available in May 2024. And let me tell you, we’re all excited with anticipation!

The one-minute clip, which features young children playing in the park, hints at Tems’ transition from a child to a woman. Talk about laying the groundwork for a historic moment.

The video transports us back to Tems’ childhood in the suburbs of Lagos. Imagine her mother working in the kitchen in a little house. It’s similar to taking a look at Tems’ private photo album!

Not to mention her incredible Coachella performance. She performed “Essence” with Justin Bieber and Wizkid, stunning the crowd, and she also gave us access to an unreleased Born in the Wild song. Wow, you really left us wanting more!

With Tems, the stories she shares are equally as important as the music. Her new song’s sample of “Love Me Jeje” is akin to a love letter to her heritage and a recognition of the cultural influences that helped to shape her.

Some people may argue that the album title “Born in Africa,” which includes the song “Love Me Jeje,” sounds uncannily similar to Born in the Wild. Just a coincidence? Perhaps. Tems is prepared to take us on an exciting journey, and we’re all here for it, that much is certain!
