Looters, contract racketeers run helter-skelter as EFCC, Police close-in on them

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigeria Police have re-stated their resolve to strengthen their existing cooperation and partnership in the fight against economic, financial crimes and other acts of corruption.

This resolve was made on Friday when the Commander of the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC 1, ACE 1 Aliyu Naibi, paid a working visit to the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, Kanayo Uzuegbu.

Naibi said the existing working relationship between the Police and the Commission needs to be strengthened in order to stem the tide of criminality in the state, and the nation at large.

“The existing working relationship between the police and the Commission is mutually desirable and I am of the belief that the synergy between us should be strengthened,” he said.

Responding, Uzuegbu assured Naibi of continuous support, saying that “I give you my word that the existing cordial working relationship between the Police and the Commission in Enugu State shall remain unbroken. In fact, rest assured that I will always treat all collaborative requests to aid your activities with dispatch”, he said.
