Liverpool’s Title Hope Truncated after Facing Another Defeat at Anfield

—

Liverpool’s title hopes have been dented after losing to Crystal Palace at Anfield on Matchday 23.

Liverpool’s title hope experienced a massive setback as they have failed to score at Anfield consecutively in two matches in a row for the first time this season.

Just some days ago, Liverpool were beaten by Atalanta in a 3-0 thriller at Anfield during the first leg of the quarter-final of the UEFA Europa League.

A huge goal deficit they may not be able to overturn given their current situation.

Eberechi Eze’s 14th-minute goal separates both sides after full time at the home ground of Liverpool, whose title hope may have been truncated as things stand.

Before now, the point difference between Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City has been insignificant, depicting a tough title race between the three clubs.

Manchester City defeated Luton last night to go top for the first time this year on 73 points, while Liverpool now drops to third with just 71 points. Arsenal will still be above the Reds regardless of the outcome of their games today.
