Liverpool Set to Appoint Arne Slot as Jürgen Klopp Replacement

Liverpool is poised to name Arne Slot as the successor to Jürgen Klopp, as confirmed by football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

According to Romano, Liverpool has made initial contact with Slot, and the discussions have been very positive. Slot, who currently manages Feyenoord, is reportedly keen on the job.

“Initial contacts between Arne Slot and Liverpool, very positive. New contact to follow soon with Slot keen on #LFC job.”

Although there is no release clause in his contract, Feyenoord is expected to seek compensation from Liverpool.

“Understand there’s NO release clause included into his contract; Feyenoord would request a compensation fee as they did with Tottenham one year ago.”

Previously, Liverpool had been linked with managers such as Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon and De Zerbi of Brighton, but they seem to have shifted their focus to slot.

Klopp had announced several months ago that he would be stepping down as Liverpool’s head coach after nine years with the club.
