Liverpool consistently lost trophies a few years after Klopp joined – Pochettino

A few years after Klopp joined Liverpool, the team experienced consistent losses in finals, but Pochettino, in his recent post-match interviews, emphasized the importance of maintaining positivity despite their recent defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.

Pochettino pointed out that despite Liverpool’s earlier struggles in finals under Klopp, they eventually turned things around due to their resilience and determination. He stressed the need for hard work and improvement, highlighting Liverpool’s journey as an example of perseverance leading to success.

‘When you’re playing for a trophy, nothing you can say will make them feel better. They need to realize that we need to work, we need to do things better and improve.

‘To compete at this level, you need to feel what it means to play for a big trophy. I remember that after three or four years [under Jürgen Klopp] Liverpool had lost the Europa League final and lost the Champions League final.

‘But they kept believing in their project and got stronger each season until they got what they wanted. That is a good example and if we want to challenge a team like Liverpool, we need to keep believing, that is the most important thing.’

Additionally, Virgil Van Dijk’s late-minute header dashed Chelsea’s hopes of victory, preventing them from securing their first win over Klopp’s Liverpool in major finals.
