Lewandowski Hits Rare Champions League Milestone With Barcelona

With 20 goals in the competition for a second club, Robert Lewandowski has inscribed his name into yet another unique Champions League mark and ranks among a small list of modern legends.

Having scored 69 Champions League goals for Bayern Munich, the Barcelona striker arrived in Spain in 2022 and has now exceeded 20 goals for the Catalan giants.

His most recent strike came during Barca’s 4-2 victory over Slavia Prague, further bolstering their campaign and ending his goal drought in this year’s European activity.

Lewandowski’s achievement puts him among great players since just Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, and Neymar who have scored 20 or more Champions League goals for two different teams.

Ronaldo achieved the milestone with Manchester United and Real Madrid, and Kane with Tottenham and Bayern Munich, while Neymar reached it with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Lewandowski has maintained a remarkable run, scoring in 15 consecutive Champions League seasons. Longer runs in the modern age have been recorded just by Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema.

Having started his Champions League season, the veteran forward expressed hope and relief more goals will follow.

Lewandowski’s European score currently stands at 114 UEFA competition goals, which places him third on the all-time list behind Messi and Ronaldo, especially with more chances ahead to close the gap.
