Let God’s Presence Be Felt Through You, Bishop Ezeofor Urges Christians at Christmas

As Christmas celebration is celebrated the world over today, the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, has urged Christians to strive to extend the presence of the newborn king to people around them.

In his Christmas message delivered at the Chapel of Grace, Bishop’s Court, Ekwulobia, Right Reverend Ezeofor emphasized that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.

According to him, celebrating Christmas without recourse to the main reason of the celebration amounts to total waste of time, insisting that Christ must take centre stage in any celebration of Christmas.

He noted that God through Christmas, fulfilled the promise to send his son, Jesus Christ also known as Emmanuel, through who God’s presence will dwell with men.

He therefore said Christians as followers of Christ must ensure that their lives showcase the presence of God through people that come in contact with them.

Any life that does not depict the true nature of Christ should be eschewed by anyone who calls on the name of Christ.

“At Christmas, God wants us to internalize the character of Christ and live it out so that through us as Christians, the light and presence of God will be made known to the world,” the prelate admonished.

Bishop Ezeofor called on those in positions of authority to show dispositions that reflect the virtues of the baby Jesus, which include humility, love, care and support for one another.

The right Reverend Ezeofor also took the opportunity to call on the federal government to find lasting solutions to some of the country’s most pressing challenges, particularly hunger and insecurity, in order to restore hope to the people.
