Lagos Set to Launch Mobile App for Transportation

—

The Lagos State government is set to introduce a new mobile application, Omo-Eko, designed to revolutionize transportation services in the state.

According to the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the app is 90% complete and will soon be launched.

Speaking during a stakeholder meeting in Lagos on Friday, Mr. Osiyemi explained that the Omo-Eko app will provide a comprehensive platform for residents and visitors to access real-time traffic updates, navigation assistance, and information about the Ministry of Transportation and its agencies.

He described the app as a step toward transforming Lagos into a modern, technology-driven city by improving accessibility and simplifying daily life for commuters.

The review meeting was attended by prominent stakeholders, including Olalekan Bakare-Oki, the general manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA); Akin-George Fashola, director of the Vehicle Inspection Service; and representatives from MTN and the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy.

The app’s launch is expected to support the state government’s vision of creating a smart city with efficient service delivery for its residents.
