Labour Party now in opposition – Obi

No plot will stifle Nigeria's political opposition - Obi on Abure's arrest

On Monday, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, formally acknowledged the Supreme Court’s ruling regarding Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election.

He pointed out that the Obidient family, the LP, and himself had all essentially come to terms with their newfound opposition status.

In addition to expressing unhappiness with the Supreme Court’s decision upholding President Bola Tinubu’s victory, Obi promised that they would spread the word about the new Nigeria among Nigerians in their homes, schools, and car parks.

At an international news conference held at his campaign headquarters in Abuja, the former governor of Anambra shared his message of hope.

He emphasized that they will stay in the party as opposition and keep applying pressure to the federal government to act morally, provided they have exhausted all legal and constitutional avenues to recover their mandate.
