FC Barcelona has clinched the La Liga title for the 2024/25 season after beating Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium on Thursday night.
It is Barcelona’s 28th title in history, putting them ahead of arch-rival Real Madrid this season, with two games to spare.
Lamine Yamal became the star player after opening the scoring in the second half, following a goalless first half. It was a proud moment for the team, which added another goal in added time through a Fabian Lopez effort, assisted by Yamal, who was involved in both goals.
Although they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the semi-finals, Hansi Flick’s arrival has revitalized the club. He has given opportunities to young players eager to make a name for themselves, and that strategy has paid off. The Catalan side won every major domestic trophy this season, completing a treble: the Spanish Super Cup, Copa del Rey, and La Liga.
The club announced that it will commence its title parade on Friday, continuing until Sunday, when they will play Villarreal at home in the final game of the season:
“The starting point will be Access Gate 13 at Spotify Camp Nou, and the route will end at the Arc de Triomf monument at around 9:30 p.m. CEST. The open-top buses will pass through the streets of Numància, Berlín, París, Balmes, and Pelai. Then Plaça Catalunya and Plaça Urquinaona, before moving on to Carrer Trafalgar and Passeig de Sant Joan, finally arriving at Arc de Triomf.”
“The party will continue until Sunday, when FC Barcelona face Villarreal in their final home game of the season.”
