Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, actress Adebimpe Adedimeji, known as Mo Bimpe, held a thanksgiving ceremony on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, for their triplet sons, Rahman, Raheem, and Rakeeb.
The event took place at the Monarch Event Center in Lagos and drew dozens of guests from the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Before Wednesday’s public event, they had already welcomed the triplets with a private Islamic naming ceremony at their home in Lekki, Lagos, where the boys received their names.
Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, known as Kwam 1, performed live at the ceremony and interrupted his set to present the couple with bundles of cash on stage. He said the gift was meant to support the family in raising the three boys. Videos of the presentation spread widely on social media after the event.
The guest list included Shade Okoya, wife of businessman Razaq Okoya, who attended with her sons Raheem and Wahab Okoya. Actresses Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Aigbe, Omowunmi Dada, Bimbo Thomas, Ronke Oshodi, Bukky Wright, Foluke Daramola, Juliana Olayode, Eniola Badmus, and Eniola Ajao were also present.
Veteran actors Jide Kosoko, Odunlade Adekola, Yinka Quadri, and Mide Martins attended, alongside comedian Woli Agba Ajewole, singer Waje, and stylist Veekee James with her husband, actor Stan Nze, and his wife, Blessing Obasi.
Event organizer Omobolale Gold required guests to present access cards and wear the official Aso Ebi. Uninvited bloggers and content creators were kept out of the venue, in what organizers described as an effort to protect the couple’s privacy. The venue featured a portrait backdrop, food and drink stations, and dry-ice effects.
Not every guest in Aso Ebi made it past the gate. Actresses Regina Chukwu and Victoria Adeboye arrived dressed in the event’s official fabric but were stopped by security at the entrance. Video of the exchange, which showed both women speaking with a bouncer, circulated online after the event. Neither the organizers nor the security team explained the decision, and it is not known whether the two were eventually allowed in.

Lateef Adedimeji announced the triplets’ arrival on Instagram early this year, writing that the months before their birth were spent “building, protecting, and embracing” what he called the greatest blessing of his life. Mo Bimpe described the experience of becoming a mother as a shift “from waiting to wonder, from tears to thanksgiving.”
A video of market women singing and praying for the couple after the triplets’ birth had also gone viral. Mo Bimpe later asked on her Instagram page that the women be identified so they could be included in the family’s celebration.
