Former Manchester City striker Kun Agüero has weighed in on the debate comparing Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior and Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal.
Ahead of the highly anticipated El Clásico clash on Saturday night, the Argentine remarked that while Vinicius boasts more experience, Yamal is the more talented player.
“Lamine has much more talent than Vinicius, although Vinicius has more experience from the titles he’s won with Madrid,” Agüero commented.
Agüero acknowledged Vinicius as one of the top three players in the world but maintained his preference for Yamal’s talent, citing the youngster’s age and potential. He also expressed his desire to play alongside both stars.
“Vinicius is in the ‘top 3’ in the world, but considering age and talent, I prefer Lamine. I would love to play with both, with me as the striker,” he added.
At just 17 years old, Lamine Yamal has already proven himself to be one of the most exciting young talents in football. The teenager plays a significant role for both Barcelona and Spain’s senior national team. In just 10 games this season, Yamal has recorded 4 goals and 6 assists, closing in on his total of 16 goal contributions from last season in 50 appearances.
Yamal’s impact was on full display during Barcelona’s recent 3-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League, where he assisted Raphinha’s late goal before being substituted for Ansu Fati in the 85th minute.
