King Charles III will host Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said of Oman at Windsor Castle on Tuesday for a traditional state visit to the United Kingdom.
Charles and Queen Camilla, alongside Prince William and his wife, Catherine, the Prince and Princess of Wales, will welcome the Omani ruler at a grand state banquet in the historic royal fortress.
Working members of the British royal family are expected to attend the evening event at St George’s Hall.

The visit is the first state visit to the UK since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the UK. However, Prince Harry and Meghan, who are no longer working members of the royal family, are not expected to participate in official royal engagements.
It will also be Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s first state banquet in office. He is expected to wear white tie and tails and sit alongside prominent guests, close to the King.
Earlier on Tuesday, William, heir to the British throne, will meet Sultan Haitham at the Omani ruler’s residence on behalf of the King before accompanying him to Windsor.
Charles and Camilla will receive the Sultan on a specially erected dais in the town center of Windsor.
The King, Queen, Prince William, Catherine and their distinguished guest will then take part in a horse-drawn carriage procession through Windsor to the castle.
The procession will be followed by a ceremonial welcome and an inspection of the Guard of Honor in the castle’s quadrangle.
On Wednesday, Sultan Haitham will hold talks with Burnham at Downing Street amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The two leaders met in July, when they discussed efforts to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Burnham also expressed appreciation for Oman’s mediation efforts in the region.
The Sultan last visited Charles in the summer of 2025 for tea and a private meeting at Windsor Castle.
The last state visit to the UK by an Omani sultan took place in 1982, when Queen Elizabeth II hosted the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, a cousin of Sultan Haitham, at Buckingham Palace.
