Kebbi State Approves January 5 for Reopening of Schools

—

The Kebbi State Government has approved the reopening of schools across the state, with academic activities set to resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.

The directive was contained in an official letter signed by the Head of Public Relations and Protocol (HPRP) of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Isah Ibrahim K.

According to the statement, the approval applies to all public and private educational institutions in the state.

The reopening follows a temporary closure aimed at ensuring the safety of learners and staff, as well as allowing for necessary administrative preparations ahead of the new academic session.

School administrators, teachers, parents, students, and Education Secretaries have been urged to take note of the directive and ensure full compliance. The state government emphasized that all schools are expected to resume fully on the approved date without delay.

School heads have been directed to put adequate measures in place to guarantee a smooth and safe resumption of academic activities. This includes ensuring that learning environments are properly prepared to receive students and that administrative arrangements are in order.

Parents and guardians were also advised to ensure that their children and wards return to school promptly, as teaching and learning activities will commence immediately upon resumption.

The Kebbi State Government reaffirmed its commitment to the continuity of education and the welfare of students across the state, calling on all stakeholders to cooperate in making the resumption successful.
