Katsina Governor’s ADC, CSO Detained in Abuja Over Political Billboards

The Aide-de-Camp (ADC) and Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda are reportedly still being held in Abuja by security authorities, according to a report by Katsina Times.
The two officials were reportedly invited for questioning following an investigation into the destruction of political billboards along the Modoji-Government House road in Katsina.
Sources cited by The News Chronicle said the security agencies are questioning the officials over what they may know about the incident or alleged links to individuals suspected of vandalising the billboards.
Some of the affected billboards reportedly carried images of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other prominent political figures, including the President’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Ibrahim Masari.

The development reportedly followed a complaint to the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS), after which a man identified as Aminu Sanda, popularly known as Aminu Nasta, was reportedly arrested. He was said to be associated with a political group in Katsina.
Following information allegedly obtained during the investigation, the governor’s ADC and CSO were reportedly summoned to Abuja for questioning.
The report further stated that the Chief of Staff to the Katsina State Government House, Alhaji Abdulkadir Nasir, travelled to Abuja in an effort to secure the release of the two officials.
Governor Radda is also reportedly said to have intervened to seek their release. However, the two officials were said to remain in custody as of the time of the report.
The circumstances surrounding their continued detention and the specific allegations against them remain unclear, as there has been no official statement from the relevant security agencies confirming the reported detention or detailing the outcome of the investigation.
