Katsina Governor calls on residents to defend themselves amid insecurity

—

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda talked to people about being ready to protect themselves from bandits.

He said this during a big meeting about safety at the Government House in Katsina. The governor said it’s important for people not to only rely on help from the government.

The meeting happened on Friday, February 09, 2024. Lots of important people came, like government leaders, security bosses, and traditional leaders from Daura and Katsina.

Governor Radda said we need to act fast to deal with problems like not having enough food, being poor, and feeling unsafe in the state.

He said, “We called this meeting to talk about safety, poverty, and not having enough food in the state.

“We need to see what’s happening with safety and do something about it. Also, people are struggling to get food and are very hungry.”

Governor Radda also said the government will help communities if they get ready to defend themselves. They will give training and things like equipment to help.

He also said the state will make a team to deal with not having enough food and the prices going up too much.

“The state government is ready to help any community that gets ready to defend themselves. We will give them training and things they need,” he said.

Governor Radda also promised that if something bad happens, the government will act quickly. He said they won’t wait until things get as bad as they did in Kano and Niger states.
