The Commissioner for Education in Kano State, Alhaji Farouk Iya, has resigned his appointment as a Commissioner in the State.

Mr. Farouk stated the romance of his boss, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso with the leaders of the All Progressives’ Congress, APC as his main reason for dropping the appointment.

The Commissioner stated that the fact that his boss may soon defect from the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives’ Congress, APC, is a personal discomfort to him as he is not ready to dump the PDP anytime soon.

“It is true that I have submitted my resignation letter to the state Governor, because the government is trying to, or has joined APC and I am not interested in the APC.

“In view of the government’s decision to join the APC, I hereby resign from the Executive Council. I will no longer be in a position to give you my honest contribution when I have no allegiance to the party. This letter comes from my greatest respect,” his resignation letter read.

Governor Musa Kwankwaso is among the G-7 Governors of the PDP who have played host to the leaders of the APC in recent times.

There are speculations that the seven Governors are considering dumping the PDP for the APC.
