The Police Command in Kano thwarted an attempt by suspected thugs to invade the home of Prince Abdullahi Abbas, the Chairman of the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was reported in a statement by the police spokesman, Mr. Abdullahi Kiyawa, on Sunday.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on May 31 at around 6 p.m. when a distress call was received from Chiranchi junction in Gwale Local Government Area.
The report indicated that thugs, armed with dangerous weapons, were throwing stones at people and trying to enter the residence of the APC chairman.
In response, a team led by the Divisional Police Officer of the Gwale Division acted quickly and managed to prevent the invasion, restoring order to the area.
Although no arrests were made at the scene, the investigation revealed that the disturbance was a clash between two rival gangs.
The suspected masterminds behind the incident were identified as Abdul’Yassar, also known as Jonny, Birbiri, and Jinjiri Aljan. The police are currently working to apprehend these individuals.
To prevent further disturbances, the police have launched continuous patrols in the area. The police are committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens in Kano State, and this swift action highlights their dedication to protecting the community.
Mr. Kiyawa reassured residents that the police command is in control of the security situation.
He mentioned that security measures have been implemented to allow residents to carry out their daily activities without fear for their safety or property.
“We have mapped out security measures to enable residents to move on with their legitimate activities without threats to lives and property.”
He also appealed to the public to provide timely and credible information about any suspicious activities or individuals in their community to aid the police in their efforts to maintain security.
“We are appealing to all law-abiding and peace-loving residents to volunteer timely and credible information on the movement of suspected characters in their midst for prompt security actions.”
