Kano Police Rescue Man from Mob over Alleged Blasphemy

The Kano State Police Command has rescued a man from an angry mob following an alleged blasphemy incident at a hotel in the Badawa area of Kano metropolis.
The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday December 21 at Sarina Hotel, located in Badawa Quarters.
According to the sources, police received a distress call reporting that three men Musa Tasiu, Awwal Ibrahim, and Soja Snu, all from Dorayi Quarters had visited the hotel to smoke shisha.
It was alleged that one of the men, Musa Tasiu, entered the hotel’s mosque, broke the glass door, picked up a copy of the Holy Qur’an, and tore it.
Following the incident, people within the hotel premises reportedly gathered in large numbers, and the suspect was close to being lynched by the mob.
However, a police patrol team attached to the division responded promptly to the distress call, rescued the suspect, and restored calm in the area.
Sources said the situation has since been brought under control, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
