Former Chief Judge of Kano State, Justice Shehu Atiku, is dead.
This development was confirmed to newsmen by the spokesman of the Kano Judiciary, Baba Jibo Ibrahim.
In a statement, the spokesman said the Chief Judge died following a brief illness.
The late Atiku was famously known for his role in the failed bank’s tribunal in which he was uncompromising despite various attempts to bribe him.
Multiple reports had it that he refused to bow to threats on his life as he diligently adjudicated on cases brought before the tribunal over which he presided.
Atiku retired from the bench in 2015 as the Chief Judge of Kano State.
The late Judicial icon was adjudged to be a humble and easy-going person whose humility was very disarming.
