Kano Governor Launches State Security and Neighbourhood Watch Corps

The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially launched a new internal security outfit known as the Kano State Security and Neighbourhood Watch Corps, aimed at strengthening security across the state.
The newly established corps comprises 2,000 well-trained personnel who will work to monitor communities, enhance local surveillance, and protect lives and property in both urban and rural areas of Kano State.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Governor Yusuf said the initiative is part of his administration’s broader strategy to ensure peace, safety, and stability in the state.
He noted that the corps would complement the efforts of conventional security agencies by providing timely intelligence and rapid response at the community level.
The governor also called on residents to cooperate with the new security outfit, stressing that community participation is vital to achieving lasting peace and improved security in Kano State
