Kano Boosts Judiciary with 30 New Shari’a Judges

The Chief Judge of Kano State, Justice Dije Abdu-Aboki, has administered the oath of office to 30 newly appointed Shari’a Court judges.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Kano State Judiciary, Baba Jibo-Ibrahim, on Saturday in Kano.

According to the statement, the swearing-in ceremony represents a major step toward reinforcing the administration of justice across the state.

Addressing the appointees, Justice Abdu-Aboki congratulated them and urged them to be God-fearing and to discharge their duties with integrity, impartiality and accountability. She also emphasised adherence to the principles of justice, fairness and the rule of law.

In his remarks, the state Attorney-General, Abdulkarim Kabiru-Maude, SAN, congratulated the judges and charged them to uphold ethical standards in the discharge of their responsibilities. He underscored the importance of ensuring that courts remain pillars of equity and social harmony, while reaffirming the state government’s commitment to supporting the judiciary.

The ceremony drew the presence of the Grand Khadi of Kano State, Tijjani Yusuf-Yakasai, alongside Khadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal, High Court judges, and key stakeholders in the justice sector.
