Kanayo O. Kanayo Calls Men “Endangered Species” in Nollywood

Nollywood veteran Kanayo O. Kanayo has described men as “endangered species.” He expressed concern that wealthy men spend so much money on female actors that it makes their male counterparts appear less hard-working.

Kanayo shared his views on a recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, co-hosted by Husband Material and Deity Cole. He noted that many rich Nigerian men financially support women in the industry, giving them benefits that make men seem like they aren’t putting in enough effort.

He stated, “Nigerian rich men often spend money on our women to the point that it affects us. If a girl, who is your girlfriend, wants to do a production and asks for N100 million to N150 million, you give it to her. But if it’s me, KOK, you’ll tell me to work hard.”

Kanayo urged people to consider this issue, pointing out that women rarely ask for financial help for medical expenses, while men do. “We are an endangered species,” he concluded.
