Kaduna State Governor Inaugurates New Secondary Schools, Pledges to Build 50 More

The Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani inaugurated a newly built Government Secondary School in Rigachikun, located in the Igabi Local Government Area, on Monday.
During the event, the governor announced plans to construct an additional 50 secondary schools across the state’s 23 Local Government Areas.
Governor Sani explained that the aim of this extensive educational infrastructure project is to overcome the barriers that restrict access to education.
He emphasized that investing in education is the most effective way to combat poverty and insecurity.
He highlighted that the newly constructed schools are equipped with modern technology, innovative learning spaces, and safety features designed to help students concentrate on learning and reach their full potential.
Reflecting on the project’s inception, Governor Sani said, “When I laid the foundation for this school on August 31, 2023, I promised a swift completion. We have fulfilled that promise, thanks to the grace of Almighty Allah.”
He continued, “This achievement is a major step in addressing one of the primary obstacles to education providing accessible, safe, and conducive learning environments. Students who learn in such settings are more confident, interact better with peers, and are more creative and innovative.”
Governor Sani reiterated his administration’s focus on education, describing it as the best weapon against poverty and insecurity. “By educating someone, you empower them for life. An educated individual is less likely to be manipulated by malicious forces. Educating girls and women, in particular, greatly benefits society,” he stated.
He further mentioned that this school is part of 62 secondary school construction and rehabilitation projects initiated in the first phase of his administration’s educational revitalization efforts.
Most of these projects have been completed and commissioned, with the remaining nearing completion.
“We are in the final stages of planning for the construction of 50 more secondary schools. These new facilities are more than just buildings, they symbolize our commitment to providing the best possible learning environments for our students to learn, grow, and thrive,” Governor Sani said.
He added that these schools will be outfitted with the latest technology and innovative spaces to ensure students can focus on their education and personal development.
