Kaduna Killing: Resident Says He Lost 34 Family Members As Army Chief Assures Victims Of Support

A resident of Dutun Biri community, Idris Dahiru, has said that 34 of his family members were killed in the unfortunate incident that occurred on Sunday, December 3rd 2023.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa, Idris revealed that the twin bomb blast exploded without any warning adding that as at the time the first explosion blew up in the middle of Maulaud celebrants, those that were not affected quickly rushed out to evacuate the casualties and assist affected persons when the second bomb was eventually dropped killing dozens.

“Our annual Maulud celebration was shattered by unexpected airstrikes. The first bomb exploded without warning, killing innocent people, including women and children, some victims were torn apart by the blast.”

“As we rushed to aid the injured, the jet returned, unleashing a second bomb, this time, many of those who had come to help were among the casualties”.

“My family alone has lost 34 members in this tragedy. We have 66 loved ones receiving medical care at Barau Dikko Hospital”.  He stated.

Earlier the Chief of Army staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja during a visit to commiserate with residents and victims of the airstrikes assured of the army’s support and provision of succor to the affected persons.

Recall that dozens of villagers in Tudun Biri Community, Igabi LGA of Kaduna state were on Sunday 3rd of December 2023 killed and many others injured as a result of an army drone explosion.
