Kaduna JUSUN Hails Gov. Uba Sani for Judiciary Welfare, N2bn Infrastructure Investment

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kaduna State branch, has praised Governor Uba Sani for what it described as unprecedented support for the judiciary through improved staff welfare and major investments in judicial infrastructure.

The union said the governor’s interventions had strengthened the administration of justice, enhanced workers’ welfare, and reinforced the independence of the judiciary in the state.

The commendation was contained in a statement jointly signed on Thursday by the union’s Chairman, Auwalu Sarki, Assistant Secretary, Nasir Haruna, and Treasurer, Hygienus Aka’ahs.

According to the statement, Governor Sani approved and paid outfit allowances for all categories of judiciary staff and also cleared two months of withheld salaries for April and May 2021, which had remained unpaid under the previous administration.

The union further disclosed that the governor approved the payment of Leave and Transport Grants for judiciary workers from the time he assumed office through 2025, adding that the disbursement would commence soon.

It also noted that the Kaduna State Government had awarded and begun the renovation of the Judiciary Headquarters, including the High Court of Justice, the Shari’a Court of Appeal, the Customary Court of Appeal, and the Judicial Service Commission, at a cost exceeding ₦2 billion.

The statement added that the governor had approved the payment of other outstanding entitlements owed to judicial officers and judiciary staff across the state.

JUSUN described the interventions as a clear demonstration of Governor Sani’s commitment to strengthening the justice delivery system, safeguarding judicial independence, and improving the welfare of judicial personnel.

“The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria sincerely appreciates these unprecedented interventions and assures the governor of the continued support and cooperation of judiciary staff in promoting efficient, effective and timely administration of justice in Kaduna State,” the statement said.

The union also prayed for God to grant the governor wisdom, strength, and good health to continue delivering democratic dividends to the people of Kaduna State.
