The Kaduna State Government has resolved a land dispute in Jaji, Igabi Local Government Area, that had displaced thousands of residents for more than a decade.
Governor Uba Sani announced that, following sustained dialogue among stakeholders, the state government had allocated residential plots at zero premium to 712 verified households across nine affected communities.
The government also allocated farmlands to help the affected families rebuild their agricultural livelihoods and support their return to self-reliance.

Speaking on the resolution, Sani said the intervention reflected his administration’s commitment to social justice and respect for human dignity.
“The gratitude expressed by community stakeholders is deeply moving,” Sani said. “Their acknowledgement that government has answered their longstanding appeals reinforces our conviction that public service must give practical expression to justice, compassion, and respect for human dignity.”
To further support agricultural recovery and the economic reintegration of the returning families, Sani personally donated five trucks of fertiliser.

The state government also pledged to provide social welfare assistance to the most vulnerable among the approximately 5,000 affected residents, with the aim of making the resettlement a sustainable foundation for long-term security and self-reliance.
Community leaders and other stakeholders expressed appreciation to the state government, describing the resolution as an end to years of hardship, displacement and uncertainty in the affected communities.
