Kaduna Governor Receives Freed Worshippers Abducted During Church Service

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has received the worshippers who were abducted by bandits during a church service in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.

The victims were kidnapped on January 18, 2026, and spent over two weeks in captivity before regaining their freedom.

The brief reception ceremony took place at the Government House in Kaduna.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Sule Shuaibu (SAN), confirmed the successful rescue of all the abducted worshippers. He stated that the governor would officially receive them after their release.

“Yes, it is true they were rescued. All of them were rescued,” the commissioner said.

The release of the worshippers has brought relief to their families and the wider community, as residents continue to call for sustained efforts to improve security across the state.
