Kaduna ADC Raises Red Flag Over ‘Ghost’ Secretariat Inauguration

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has poured cold water on a flurry of social media claims suggesting the party was poised to unveil a new state secretariat in the state capital.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Kaduna, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Mr Alex Tagwai, described the circulating reports as a house built on sand, insisting they were false, unauthorised and entirely disconnected from the ADC’s official structure.

Tagwai said the so-called announcement did not originate from the party, but from what he termed impostors allegedly bent on undermining the ADC’s interests in Kaduna State.

He said: “Neither the State Executive Committee nor the State Working Committee has constituted any Local Organising Committee (LOC) for such an event, contrary to claims in the viral announcement.

“The ADC National Secretariat had also denied knowledge of any planned inauguration,” stressing that no date or arrangement had received the party’s approval.

Calling on party members and the general public to separate wheat from chaff, Tagwai urged them to ignore the misleading notice.

He warned that those pushing the narrative were only stirring the hornet’s nest, adding: “Those behind it are only out to cause confusion and heat up the polity, which is against the policy of the party.”

While debunking the report, the ADC spokesman confirmed that the party had secured a property at Unguwar Kanawa, NDA Junction along the Zaria–Kaduna Road, designated to serve as the state secretariat. However, he noted that any formal opening would only take place after clearance from the party’s national leadership.

Tagwai appealed to members to remain law-abiding and committed to peaceful coexistence across the state.

“The party will communicate the details to the public upon approval from the national leadership,” he added.
