Reports coming in indicate that the Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dissolved members of the State Executive Council.
According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Wednesday 23 January 2024, the governor noted that the development would take immediate effect.
“All members of the cabinet are to immediately hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices. All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession”. The statement added.
While appreciating the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the state, Aiyedatiwa who was earlier sworn in, in December 27, 2023, as the substantive governor of the state after the death of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, also relieved all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants of their official duties.
Rotimi Akeredolu died at the age of 67 while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer in a German hospital.
