JUST IN: Yahaya Bello Surrenders to EFCC

Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has once again appeared before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in response to an invitation regarding allegations of misappropriation of funds.

This visit took place on Tuesday morning, accompanied by his legal team, following a recent Supreme Court ruling that upheld the constitutionality of the EFCC’s operations.

Bello arrived at the EFCC office driving a black Hilux amid speculation about his impending visit, which his media aides had not confirmed.

As of the latest reports, he was still being held for questioning by EFCC operatives.

This development comes after a court hearing on November 14, where the EFCC requested an adjournment to November 27 for further proceedings against Bello.

The commission is pursuing multiple charges against him, including allegations of laundering approximately N80.2 billion. His co-defendants have been granted administrative bail, while the EFCC seeks additional time for Bello’s appearance in court.

The situation has garnered significant attention as it unfolds, particularly in light of the Supreme Court’s dismissal of challenges to the EFCC’s authority, which may impact ongoing investigations and legal proceedings against Bello.
