JUST IN: Wike Orders Immediate Demolition of Houses After Flooding in Abuja

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate demolition of houses obstructing waterways in Maitama and other flood-prone areas of Abuja.

Wike gave the directive on Tuesday after inspecting areas in Maitama affected by flooding following recent heavy rainfall.

The minister said the demolition exercise would commence immediately and continue until Saturday, regardless of the political activities in the country or the status of the owners of the affected properties.
