JUST IN: Tinubu Swears In Kekere-Ekun As Substantive CJN

President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Villa on Monday September 30 following the Senate’s confirmation of her nomination last week.

Justice Kekere-Ekun, now the 23rd CJN and only the second woman to hold this position in the nation’s history.

Until her confirmation as the substantive CJN, Kekere-Ekun had served in an acting capacity since August, following the retirement of her predecessor, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
