JUST IN: S’ Court Affirms Fintiri’s Election As Governor Of Adamawa

The Supreme Court has on Wednesday 31 January struck out an appeal by the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Aisha Dahiru, popularly referred to as Binani.

Delivering the judgment, the five-member panel chaired by John Okoro dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit.

While condemning the conduct of the state former Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Ari, who had earlier declared the candidate of the APC, Binani winner of the March 18 governorship election held in the state, the Apex Court described the decision as irresponsible and criminal.

Okoro stated that the exclusive power to announce election results lies with the Returning Officer and not the REC.
