The final batch of Nigerians evacuated from South Africa amid renewed xenophobic tensions has arrived in Lagos.
The evacuees arrived aboard an Air Peace flight, which touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 11:28 a.m.
The latest arrival marks the conclusion of the government’s evacuation exercise, which was launched following concerns over xenophobic attacks and rising tensions involving Nigerians in South Africa.
Prior to the final flight, the Federal Government had conducted four evacuation trips, bringing back hundreds of Nigerians from the country.
