JUST IN: Emefiele Remanded In Kuje Prison

Former Governor, Central Bank Of Nigeria CBN, Godwin Emefiele has been remanded in Kuje. While delivering the ruling Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal High Court, gave this order in Abuja stating that the former CBN boss be remanded immediately pending the determination of his request for bail.

Emefiele is expected to remain in prison custody until November 22th 2023 when his bail motion would be heard. In a swift reaction, his lead counsel, Mathew Burkaa SAN moved a bail application that was strongly opposed to by Rotimi Oyedepo on behalf of the Federal Government.

However, after taking arguments by the two parties Justice Muazu maintained that a bench ruling could not be delivered in view of the number of authorities mentioned by the two parties stressing that he requires time to study the authorities and consider what the embattled ex-CBN boss has brought forward for his bail.
