Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday arrested former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, over allegations of certificate forgery.
According to the sources, the arrest was carried out at the request of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC), which is investigating the former minister over allegations of certificate forgery.
It was gathered that the ICPC had earlier invited the former minister for questioning following petitions concerning the management of the Ministry of Science and Technology during his tenure.
However, after he allegedly failed to honour the invitations, the commission sought the assistance of the DSS, which subsequently arrested him at the Enugu airport.
Nnaji resigned as Minister of Science and Technology in October 2025 under circumstances that generated public attention.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the ICPC nor the DSS had issued an official statement on the arrest.
