President Muhammadu Buhari and his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, met on Thursday, Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman, has confirmed. The meeting, which was well concealed from the media, took place at night at the official residence of the president in Abuja. The following day, Buhari also met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo but that was reported in the media. Details of the meetings have not been revealed, but there will be speculations surrounding the probes being launched against Jonathan’s administration in the last few weeks. Presidency has said it would limit its probe to Jonathan’s government, and key actors are already being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as well as the Department of State Services (DSS). Jonathan said in his last days in office that if only his government was probed, it would amount to a witch hunt.
