As states like Plateau, Kano, Zamfara and five others whose judgment is currently been held at the Supreme Court sit on the edge of their seats, at least four governors from the opposition parties are currently at the Apex Court where the judgment will be given on electoral disputes involving them.
The Supreme Court is expected to deliver judgment on seven governorship appeals, including Lagos, Kano, Zamfara, Plateau, Ebonyi, Bauchi, and Cross River.
Among the early comers in the court were Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano, who is of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP). Abba’s appeal challenging the decision of the appellate court that declared the candidate winner of the March 18 governorship election in the state.
Others are the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara) and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau).
As at press time, none of the APC governors had been sighted in court.
