Jordan Henderson terminates his contract with Al-Ettifaq just after six months

English and former Liverpool midfielder, Jordan Henderson, has terminated his contract with Saudi Arabia outfit Al-Ettifaq just after six months with the club.

Recall that this summer, the former Liverpool captain was part of the players shipped out when it underwent a total midfield revamping. Jordan then decided to reunite with Steven Gerrard, who manages the club.

Following his £12m summer move to the middle West, Henderson has received much criticism from mainly English fans, who slammed him for prioritizing money over European teams. The criticism was so pronounced that Three Lions manager Southgate was asked to stop inviting Jordan to the team.

According to Goal.com, his decision could have been orchestrated by his wife. It is believed that the Henderson family is finding it difficult to adapt to life over there in Saudi.

The former Liverpool captain is already on his way back to England after agreeing to terminate his three-year contract with the Saudi Arabia club.

The midfielder in the coming days will be unveiled as Ajax player, according to the Athletics.

Henderson is one of the most successful captains at Liverpool following his remarkable years with the club. He guided Liverpool to their first Premier League title after 30 years and their first UEFA Champions League trophy since 2005.
