American actor and professional wrestler John Cena recently opened up about his biggest fear: not feeling ready to become a “great parent.”
The 47-year-old star, who has been married twice but does not have any children, shared that he worries he may never be prepared to dedicate the time and effort required to be an excellent parent.
In a candid interview with Club Shay Shay, Cena said, “My biggest fear is that I don’t think I’m personally ready, nor will I ever be, to invest the time it takes to be a great parent. I still have a lot to do and I still want to accomplish many things.”
Cena also emphasized the importance of communication in his current marriage. He mentioned having open and honest conversations with his wife about their decision not to have children. “I have a wonderful partner, and we’ve had open conversations about this. We share the same values,” he explained. “It’s a tough subject to talk about because it immediately puts you in a category. People tend to judge. Human nature, we are all judgmental. But I operate under the belief that everyone is okay living their own lives.”
Despite the judgments that may come from his decision, Cena is content with where he is in life. “I’m very happy with where I stand,” he said. “I have a lot of joy and fulfillment in my life.”
John Cena was first married to Elizabeth Huberdeau on July 11, 2009. However, their marriage ended in divorce, which was finalized on July 18, 2012. He later married Shay Shariatzadeh on October 12, 2020, in a private ceremony in Tampa, Florida. The couple had been dating since early 2019. Neither of Cena’s marriages has resulted in children.
